1901b: 28, footnote, queen; Arnold, 1924: 715, soldier,
illustrated; also East Africa); subspecies candidus
(Santschi, 1926c: 618, worker) from Tanzania, epinotalis
(as species, Santschi, 1916b: 508, soldier & worker; reduced
to variety, Emery, 1925b: 134) from Zimbabwe, and erythromelus
(Emery, 1896i: 158, illustrated, worker; Menozzi, 1927f: 361,
queen; subspecies of braunsi, Emery, 1897e: 605) from Somalia;
soldier, worker and queen only known (see Bolton, 1995)
