Camponotus (Myrmosericus) zimmermanni Forel

Type location Ethiopia (Forel, 1894b: 66, worker); subspecies pansus (Santschi, 1926c: 613, worker); worker only known (see Bolton, 1995) .

The photomontage is of what appears to be a worker of zimmermanni from Rwanda, collector Gabriel Bizimungu, from a coffee plantation, at Bicumbi, 2005. Note the wider head than the Camponotus rufoglaucus ? syphax minor, also darker red-brown colouration. The head also has fine psammophore type hairs on the underside.
