Cataulacus brevisetosus Forel

return to key {link to the Hymenoptera Name Server}Type location Angola (Forel 1901d: 305, worker); junior synonyms meduseus (Santschi, 1939b: 245, worker) from South Africa and plebeja (Cataulacus pygmaeus st. luja var. plebeja, Santschi, 1916b: 508, worker) from Zimbabwe; worker and queen (?) only described (Bolton, 1974a: 31, illustrated, ). Note - the separation off by Bolton (1982) of the specimens of Cataulacus lujae and Cataulacus jeanneli, with their junior synonyms, suggests that the illustration he provided as "brevisetosus" (1976, figs 17 & 20) may not actually be this species .

Forel's (1901d) description is at {original description}. Santschi's (1916b) description of plebeja is at {original description}. Santschi's (1939b) description of meduseus is at {original description}. Bolton's modern description (1974a) is at {original description}
