synonyms meduseus (Santschi, 1939b: 245, worker) from South
Africa and plebeja (Cataulacus pygmaeus st. luja
var. plebeja, Santschi, 1916b: 508, worker) from Zimbabwe;
worker and queen (?) only described (Bolton, 1974a: 31, illustrated,
). Note - the separation off by Bolton (1982) of the specimens of
Cataulacus
lujae and
Cataulacus
jeanneli, with their junior synonyms, suggests that the
illustration he provided as "brevisetosus" (1976,
figs 17 & 20) may not actually be this species
