(Emery, 1877b: 379, queen & male; Emery, 1915g: 10, worker)
from Eritrea and turkanensis (Santschi, 1935b:
271, worker) from Kenya; worker and queen described (see

Note - the record of "Crematogaster aegyptiaca Mayr
subsp. senegalensis var. robusta Emery" by
Finzi (1939a) was not Cr. aegyptiaca but
Crematogaster
senegalensis possibly varying from the type form. Emery
only ever described the sexual forms of robusta and in his
1915 paper (Emery, 1915g) cited by Finzi further confused the
situation. |
Collingwood
(1985, illustrated), for specimens from Saudi Arabia, had
propodeal spines broadly dentate, less than 0.13 mm; gaster with
superficial sculpture and coarse pubescence; body colour
reddish-brown |
