Type location South Africa (Cremastogaster opaciceps
nov. spec., Mayr, 1901b: 12, worker, with illustration of nest not
ants); subspecies cacodaemon (Forel, 1914d: 234, all forms)
from South Africa, clepens (Forel, 1913h: 353, worker) from
Zaïre, at Congo da Lemba, by R. Mayné and defleta
(Forel, 1910e: 434, worker) from South Africa; all forms described
(see Bolton, 1995) .
