Oligomyrmex (Aeromyrma) semilaevis (Mayr)

Major - return to key Minor - return to key {link to the Hymenoptera Name Server} Type location South Africa (Solenopsis semilaevis, Mayr, 1901b: 15, minor); subspecies hewitti (Santschi, 1919a: 341, illustrated, major & minor) from South Africa; major & minor described (see Bolton, 1995) .

Mayr's (1901b) description is at {original description}. Arnold (1916: 247) gave a translation, this is at {original description}. Santschi's (1919a) description of hewitti is at {original description}. Arnold (1926: 236) gave a translation of the major and synonymized hewitti with semilaevis, this is at {original description} and follows the thinking of Emery (1915c: 59), from the drawings this seems a strong possibility.
