747, queen; raised to species Dalla Torre, 1893: 268), collected
by Schlüter; junior synonyms indigens (Forel, 1914d:
261, worker) from South Africa, and pleibeia
(Santschi, 1914b: 143, worker) from Kenya; worker and
queen only known (Bolton, 1973b: 321, not illustrated; also

WORKER
- TL 8.6-9.1 mm, HL 2.00-2.23, HW 1.66-1.78, SL 2.25-2.60, PW
1.54-1.78
Close to
Polyrhachis
militaris but without erect hairs on dorsal surfaces;
sculpturation all over of a fine dense reticulation. Colour black,
appendages brown and funiculi yellow-brown but whole insect with a
silvery appearance due to dense pubescence.
