Type location Uganda (Menozzi, 1924b: 224, illustrated,
soldier; Menozzi, 1933a: 114, worker); also junior synonyms myersi
from Sudan (Weber, 1943c: 389, illustrated, worker; synonymy
by Brown, 1957h: 146) and occipitalis from Uganda (Weber &
Anderson, 1950: 2, illustrated, soldier & worker- unavailable in
HNS; synonymy by Brown, 1957h: 146); worker and soldier described (see
Bolton, 1995) .

Having examined the original specimens, Brown (1957h: 146)
synonymised the Weber species, and noted that the race occipitalis
appeared from the [Weber, 1950] description to be nothing more
than the major of the species, normally with 6 mandibular teeth
counting the large apical tooth which menozzi "may have excluded".
