return to key {link to the Hymenoptera Name Server} Type location Uganda (Menozzi, 1924b: 224, illustrated, soldier; Menozzi, 1933a: 114, worker); also junior synonyms myersi from Sudan (Weber, 1943c: 389, illustrated, worker; synonymy by Brown, 1957h: 146) and occipitalis from Uganda (Weber & Anderson, 1950: 2, illustrated, soldier & worker- unavailable in HNS; synonymy by Brown, 1957h: 146); worker and soldier described (see Bolton, 1995) .

Menozzi's (1924b) description is on {original description}. Menozzi (1933a: 114) gave further notes, these are at {original description}. Weber's (1943c) description of myersi is on {original description}

Having examined the original specimens, Brown (1957h: 146) synonymised the Weber species, and noted that the race occipitalis appeared from the [Weber, 1950] description to be nothing more than the major of the species, normally with 6 mandibular teeth counting the large apical tooth which menozzi "may have excluded".
