Type location Kenya (Epitritus marginatus, 1911;
Santschi, 1914b: 114, illustrated, worker & queen; as Miccostruma
marginata in Brown (1948e: 123, see Bolton, 1995); worker and

WORKER - TL 1.2-1.3 mm; 4-segmented antennae; distinctive clypeal
shape, with anterior border concave; postpetiole smooth and shining;
colour uniform dull yellow to yellowish-brown (Bolton, 1983: 312, not
illustrated).
From West Africa, Bolton (1983) listed only findings from Ivory
Coast, at Adiopodoumé and Man (V. Mahnert & J.-L.
Perret); others were from Kenya and Zimbabwe.
A single worker was found in Ghana, at Mankrang Forest
Reserve, in leaf litter under primary forest by Belshaw & Bolton
(1994b). |
