Tetramorium geminatum Bolton

return to group key {link to the Hymenoptera Name Server} Type location Gabon (Bolton, 1980: 298, not illustrated, worker); from Plateau d'Ipassa, collected by J. Barra, with others from same locality (3.ix.1970) .

Bolton's description (1980) is at {original description}.

WORKER - TL 3.4 mm; close to Tetramorium ataxium but with longer pilosity and reduced ground-sculpture. Colour reddish brown, dark and glossy .

Now known from Cameroun, collected by the Campo Forest study (Bolton, Dejean & Ngnegueu, 1992), three instances from an abandoned termitarium of Cubitermes banksi.
