return to group key {link to the Hymenoptera Name Server} Type location Ivory Coast (Bolton, 1980: 336, illustrated, alitrunk and pedicel, worker). Known only from the holotype and 3 paratype workers from one location, Lamto, collected by J. Lévieux, 4.iii.1968. Probably a savannah species (Bolton, 1980) .

WORKER - TL 4.8-5.2 mm; a large species, with uniquely long hairs on the dorsum and characteristic petiole shape, with a short anterior peduncle and an elongate massive node. Colour yellowish brown, the gaster darker brown.
