Tetramorium xuthum Bolton
Type location Ghana (Bolton, 1980: 335, not illustrated,
worker). Described from a holotype worker and one paratype specimen,
from his own collection at CRIG, being found on bare ground in bright
sunlight (15.ix.1970). The nearest taxonomic relatives are from
Central Africa. Bolton (1980) found them attacking superficially
similar Pheidole ants

WORKER - TL 3.3-3.4 mm; it has very dense pilosity, short dentiform
propodeal armature and a uniform dark brown colour. |
